What is Pure Cow Milk?

Before you shop around to get pure cow milk, you should know what makes milk pure. A commonly held belief on purity is that not mixing the product with water or adding any other liquid that can change the nutritional value and properties of the product. But it is half the truth.

Cow gives milk when it fed with fodder. If you are feeding the cow with animal byproducts and fodder made from chemicals and pesticides then you can’t get pure product. It is called inorganic milking as you are using the animal as mild giving machine and you are using the fodder that increases quantity of the product. The product can’t be called pure as it produced using inorganic fodder. The milkman can claim that the milk is pure as noting is mixed in it but the reality is different.

Where should you look for pure cow milk? When the focus is on purity then you will certainly rush to a dairy farm and bring home farm fresh milk. But you are little bothered about how the milk is produced. You see cows chained in their compartments and they are fed from outside as there is little space for the cows to come out and roam around. You are happy to see cows and milk being drawn from the cows. But the milk isn’t pure.

Cows that are chained aren’t happy and also they can’t eat more when they aren’t allowed to move and digest the fodder. These cows are administered antibiotics and other drugs that help the cows digest fodder and produce milk. The milk produced is nutritious but it isn’t pure as it is obtained only after artificial feeding with drugs. But the cows that are reared in open ground and allowed to eat green pasture give pure milk.

For farm cow milk, you need feeding organic food to cows. Here you can ask what organic food is. It is fodder that comes from nature and not from chemical factories. Cows are fed vegetables, fruits and green grass instead of fodder that is mixed with chemicals and pesticides. Also the cows are kept in an animal-friendly environment where they have freedom to move.

Definition of purity has changed from mixing the milk to feeding the cows. The milk you are drinking isn’t pure, if it isn’t coming from an animal-friendly dairy farm. If you want to drink pure milk then buy organic milk only.
